What's Your Favorite Wintertime Activity?
When the temperatures drop and the wind howls, what do you like to do for fun? We posed this question to selected Kimbrough Law staff members. Here's what they said.
Elise Wilson, Firm Administrator
My family’s (new) favorite wintertime activity is to go snow skiing. This is the first year that we have taken all of our kids and we had the best time! With three kids, it’s hard to find things that they all enjoy together, but this is definitely one of those things. Hopefully, we can make this a more regular vacation destination!!

Stephany Magyari, Paralegal
My favorite winter time activity is sitting around the fireplace with the family with some delicious hot cocoa and watching a movie together.

Regardless of the weather, my favorite thing continues to be outside in the woods. I do less running and more hiking in the winter. Often the leaves are covering the trails, which makes the trails trickier, but the views are better with no leaves in the way. Add an extra layer or two and the weather doesn’t matter. Plus, let’s be honest; here in Georgia, “winter” is often not that much colder! On the occasions it is really cold out, you will find me indoors by the roaring fire with a good book and, of course, coffee! The image below is from a hike I did in the beginning of December.
Hailey Brock, Attorney
My favorite wintertime activity is curling up in front of my fireplace with a good book! I have been doing a lot of that since the temperatures have been so low in Athens these past several weeks. This February, I have an opportunity to go skiing with some of my college friends near Park City, Utah. It will be my first ski trip in years, and I am really looking forward to it!

My daughter, McKinley, and I went to New York City to celebrate her 26th birthday and to get away for a Mother/Daughter trip. We got up very early and went to The Today Show for Hoda Kotb’s last day. See picture of us with Dylan Dreyer from the Today Show. She is my fav. We also went to see the broadway musical & Juliet. It was fabulous! We even awakened one morning to a dusting of snow. It was a wonderful and very special trip. I can’t wait to do it again, but maybe next time in the fall when it’s a little warmer. Haha.
