Alice Woodard Joins Kimbrough Law

Alice Woodard has joined Kimbrough Law as Elder Care Coordinator, Kimbrough Law founder W.H. “Kim” Kimbrough, Jr. announced today. Alice will be based in the firm’s Gainesville office.

“We are delighted to welcome Alice to the team,” said Mr. Kimbrough, whose Athens and Gainesville-based elder law firm provides support to those caring for elderly loved ones. “Her educational background, work experience, and compassionate approach come together to help families respond with confidence to the challenges created by aging, chronic illness, and disability.”

Alice holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College in Michigan. Before joining Kimbrough Law, she, was a Commercial Real Estate Property Manager, managed The Guest Houses, a facility that provides overnight lodging for patient’s families at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital, and served as Community Relations Director at Bentley Assisted Living in Jefferson. It was there that she met Elder Care Coordinator Bre Simmons and saw the powerful impact that Kimbrough Law’s services had on the lives of their clients.

“As I saw Bre working with the residents I referred to her, I saw how she and Kimbrough Law made it possible for older adults to afford assisted living services and how they served as a guide to families throughout the long-term care journey,” said Alice. “I wanted to have that kind of impact on people’s lives.”

As Elder Care Coordinator, Alice Woodard walks alongside families during the long-term care journey, answering questions, evaluating options, and assisting with decision making. “We meet so many family caregivers who are exhausted,” added Alice. “If the firm can help someone afford the care they need, rearrange their loved one’s assets, help them get VA benefits or qualify for Medicaid, that's life-changing. People who haven't slept for months can suddenly relax because they know their elderly loved one is well cared for.”
